Volunteers & Performers Needed…

September 12 from 8-9pm a cast of EYG’s own 16-25 year olds will be playing some riveting new sets devised in collaboration with some of Scotlands most sought after trad musicians.  Come along to hear what they’ve done over the weekend.  Join us for the workshop weekend if you’re between 16-25 and interested in passing on your trad music skills to the next generation.  Info at:

Che Camille presents Fashion on the Fringe

Saturday 29 May, 6pm, stairs going up to hall
An exhibition of photos I’ve taken in Scottish woodlands, while doing conservation volunteering weekends with New Caledonian Woodlands. These weekends are a great way to get out of Edinburgh, meet new people, do some useful work and see amazing places.
The photos range from imposing landscapes and huge trees to close-up details and tiny plants. They show the work involved in giving nature a helping hand, and some of the tools and techniques used.
The exhibition will run for several weeks, so if you can’t make the opening party (or even the apres vernissage), you can still check out the pictures. Just without the free booze and nibbles.

Israel/Palestine poster

Israel/Palestine is an interactive devised theatre project exploring the crisis in the Middle East through diverse texts, performances and conversations. We’re performing for and with diverse audiences at theatres, social centres and universities in England and Scotland — performing at the Forest on Mon April 26th, 7.30pm.

We’re not interested in taking firm positions or making definitive political statements: we want to use theatre to talk with audiences about the things which matter most: Conflict. Hope. Loss. Peace.

Each performance lasts 90 minutes. Entry is free, though a pay-what-you-can donation bucket will be shaken, with proceeds going to humanitarian organisations based in Israel and Palestine.

Open Source Theatre is a London-based theatre group focussing on participatory theatre, political engagement, and transmedia experiments. Our website, where you can find out more about this and other projects, is at http://opensourcetheatre.wordpress.com

Architecture does talk(s)!
Every other week starting the 25th of March, @8pm. Discussions around the Built Environment, away from the commercial proactive attitude that seems to be dominating the architectural practices. Ideas, Authors, Projects, Inspirations, by and for everyone interested in Urban Scenarios. Come and think for yourself.
