Analogue Photography? We go the old school skillz of such to impress ancient alchemists. Forrest Darkroom is the place to learn wet chemical processes, or continue sweet projects. The Forest’s darkroom is fully functioning with four 35mm enlargers - one with 120mm!
We run eight week courses introducing black and white film development and printing, and including powerful in-class critiques. Day workshops are held on special interest topics offering brush ups on your film processing and printing skills. An alternative camera and process weekend intensives – some real DIY – so you can still make photographs post-apocalypse!
Introductions have a wee £20 fee, which covers the full cost of the chemistry that we supply and necessary, ongoing, equipment replacements and repairs. Oh yeah, we also require a current photo for your membership ID. Email the darkroom to arrange for an induction.
Darkroom slots cost £3 for one hour. Inducted members can book online! Cash payments are to be made in the cafe prior to use. Members can take part in various workshops, events, collaboration and/or discussion based meetings. Check it!: forest BB facilities, workshops section. And, hey, we are always interested in new ideas or suggestions, so…bring ‘em!
The Darkroom is 500% grateful for donations, especially in the form of chemistry, tongs, Jobo colour film processor, enlargers with multiple format capabilities, tripods, cameras, UV light boxes, paper… well…anything!
