Forest Community Choir Returns!
The Forest Café Community Choir
Every Tuesday 7-9pm the Forest Hall
A typical choir night includes warm up exercises and games, and singing songs from all over the world, in rounds or four-part harmonies. We sing songs in English, Swedish, Italian, Latin, and several African languages, and also cover Sami joiks and Gaelic mouth-music. All songs are taught by ear - you don’t have to be able to read music. It’s a relaxed and supportive environment in which to explore your voice, have fun, and boost your vocal confidence – harmonising is optional, with no solo singing! Doing gigs with the choir is not obligatory, but for those who like to perform we sing at Ceilidh and events in Edinburgh. Recent performances include the Meadows Festival, Beltane Fire Festival events, Treefest, Out Of The Blue Fairs, and Golden Hour nights at our home, The Forest Café.
Join us!
The choir is open to all, no previous experience is necessary, and we don’t hold auditions. Everyone welcome to attend, regardless of singing ability, or perceived singing ability - we don’t mind if you’re not pitch-perfect – we just want you to come along and enjoy singing! **New members are always welcome. **
